What is the Laos Village Community Fund?

The Laos Village Community Fund is a UK registered charity, established in 2004 by a group of friends, who, inspired by their experiences of cycling in rural Laos decided to do something to help the local people who they had seen living without much but smiles.

The Fund provides direct financial assistance to remote villages in Laos for simple projects that will make a difference to the quality of life of the local community. Our aim is to improve access to basic needs, such as education and fresh water.

Why Laos?
Laos is a little known country of six million people bordering Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam and China. It is on the UN's list of the 50 least developed countries in the world and is the most bombed place in history as result of covert hostilities during the Vietnam War. Most of the people live in remote rural communities and are dependant on subsistence farming.
